Easter Egg Hunt and A Petite Tote Tutorial

Easter Egg Hunt is a new line of fabric designed by Nàtalia Juan Abelló for Riley Blake Fabrics.
I decided to make a cute little tote bag which would be a perfect Easter basket.

I used my Cozy Cottage Pattern to show off all of the cute little fabric details.  Look at those adorable bunnies as well as the Easter egg on the front door and the pretty floral motifs.
You can find the pattern in my Etsy shop [HERE]

The tote is made with my 12" Cozy cottage block and is the perfect size for a shopping trip or would be adorable for an easter egg hunt this April.
You can find the tutorial

I used Riley Blake Kisses for the background and roof of the house.
The beautiful shade of yellow for the house is Riley Blake Confetti Cottons in Color Beehive.

For the back of the tote, I used the Floral Mint and quilted the panel in a 2" diagonal pattern.

The lining is Riley 1/8" gingham in color Coral.

There are so many adorable prints in this collection!

The possibilities are endless!

Patchwork Party ~ My Favorite Patchwork Pillows

Happy Friday!
I was on Instagram this morning and I saw a new photo challenge for April ~ Patchwork Party hosted by @corianderquilts.  You can find Corey's website [HERE]
If your are on Instagram search for #patchworkparty.

I love a photo challenge.  Life has been incredibly busy so this will be a fun little challenge for me to post more photos this month!

The first day is Patchwork Pillow.  Oh my, I have lots of them.  I am an impatient sewer and often make pillows instead of quilts.  I like more instant gratification : )

This cozy cottage pillow is one of my favorites.  I love to "fussy cut" and this pattern lends itself to finding the perfect image to show in those windows and door.
You can find the pattern for the block [HERE]

This is another one of my favorites - Starburst Spools.  The pattern is in my Etsy shop [HERE]

I also made this version for a pillow swap ~ The Pillow Talk Swap.

This pillow was made with beautiful Liberty Tana Lawn fabrics.  I created it for the Sew Mama Sew blog.  You can find links to the pattern [HERE]

Here is another pillow I created for a pillow swap.  You can find the free pattern [HERE]

As you can see, I love to make pillows : )
What is your favorite thing to sew?

Cozy Cottages

Over two years ago my first paper piecing pattern was published in Fat Quarterly - Cozy Cottage.
I have made it available for purchase in my Etsy and Craftsy shops.

I really do love the pattern.  It was fun to find cute images for the windows.
This is the "Sewing House" with the sewing themed items in the window.
The sewing themed brown roof and yellow details are from Suzuko Koseki - one of my favorite fabric designers.

This is one of my favorite pillows made with the "Sewing House".
I've dreamed of making a quilt with different themed houses as boutiques - Boulangerie, Sweets shop, Clothing Boutique .....shops that you would find in a quaint little town : )

Happy Creating!
