About Me

I live in Seattle in the beautiful Northwest with my husband and two boys.
I have been a fashion designer for over 20 years and have recently been designing quilting and sewing patterns. I created this blog to share my sewing and crafting adventures as well as a little thrifting.   Here, you will find my sewing and crafting projects as well as free patterns and tutorials.

My passion for textile arts started at the age of six with the help of
my mom, designing and sewing clothes for my Barbie dolls.
My most recent passion for paper piecing and quilting started in early 2012 when I joined the Cocorico Bee on Flickr.

My first pattern was published for Fat Quarterly released in March 2012.  I also have had the incredible opportunity to be a contributor to Stitch, Sew News, Sew it All and Quiltmaker Magazine.
You can also find my work in the books Playful little paper pieced projects, Beautiful Bedrooms by Stitch Magazine and Quilt Essential.
I would love to hear from you!  Please email me at ChariseCreates@gmail.com

  1. Your designs are exquisite. I am passing along your website to a former colleague who is an art teacher. He can show it to his students as an example of one way they can direct their career and aspire to be a designer. My daughter is in the Interior Architecture/Design field and now designs kitchens for a living, which she thoroughly enjoys. After seeing your work, now I really want to learn how to do paper piecing. Thank you for sharing your talent.
