Well I have some cute projects for you!
If you read my blog, you know I love Lori Holt Designs fabric for Riley Blake Design.
I had the opportunity to work with some Riley Blake Designs Basic Fabrics including Lori's Bee Vintage, Bee Basics, and Riley Blake's 1/8" gingham.
My inspiration was a gift for my mom for Christmas. What do you gift someone who has everything and loves hand made gifts? A basket filled with cute bathroom accessories of course!
My Ruffle Slippers are a pretty and feminine design. These sweet slippers are a great hand made gift or a fun project for yourself. They would also be adorable with a patchwork top!
These cozy slippers are lined and adorned with a self fabric ruffle. The soles are extra comfy and include a double layer of batting and non skid bottoms.
Use cotton flannel for the lining and sole for an extra cozy slipper.

I also made a trio of ruffle washcloths. What a fun project to add a little flair to your bathroom.
You can also add the ruffle to a hand towel! Just follow the instructions at the tutorial below.
The towels are finished with a fun gingham bias tape.
Fill a cute basket with the ruffle washcloths and slipper and you have an extra special gift for someone special!

Ruffle Washcloth Tutorial
Fabric / Notions (for making 1 washcloth)
***Cotton washcloth - my washcloth is 13" square
*** 1/8 Yard Ruffle Fabric
Cut 1 - 3" x 22" Ruffle Fabric (Cut your ruffle length about 1 1/2 - 2 times the width of your cloth)
*** 1/3 Yard Gingham
Cut 1 - 1" x 15" Bias strip (cut the strip 2" longer than the width of your washcloth)
***1/2" bias tape maker (optional)
Pls note
* 1/4" seam allowance unless noted.
* Back stitch at the beginning and end of each seam.
Cut the Bias Strip
* Place the ruler at a 45 degree angle and cut the strip
1. Place the ruffle wrong sides together along the long edge. Stitch the ends. Turn right Side out. Press.
2. Stitch a basting stitch 1/8" and 3/8" away from the raw edge. Pull up the gathering stitches so the ruffle measures the width of the washcloth you use. My washcloth measures 13".
3. Create a 1/2" bias strip by using the 1/2" bias tape maker
OR
a. Press the 1" strip wrong sides together, unfold and match the raw edge to the center fold line.
Press flat.
4. Place the bias tape right sides together with the ruffle matching raw edges. The bias tape should extend beyond the ruffle at least 1/2". Stitch.
5. Press the bias tape away from the ruffle.
6. Fold the bias tape over the edge of the ruffle. Pin in place.
7. Place the bias tape/ruffle on the washcloth with the bottom of the bias tape matching the bottom of the ruffle and the side of the ruffle matching the side of the wash cloth. Pin in place. Edge stitch around the bias tape.
Congratulations! Your Ruffle Washcloth is complete!
