Ruffle Pillows with Americana Fabric
Americana is a patriotic themed fabric in red, pink, yellow and blue with a nod to vintage feedsack style prints including florals and geometrics.
I designed a new quilting block – Florette – which uses both curved piecing and appliqué. The Florette Block is 12″ square.
I thought the Florette Block would be a perfect as a center piece for a sweet ruffle pillow. The finished size of the pillow is 16″ but can be customized to the size you need.
My Florette Pillow needed a friend, so I made a simple patchwork pillow using my favorite color combo of pink and yellow, and I love how Springy it looks!
You can find a tutorial for making a ruffle pillow Here at Polka Dot Chair.
I hope you choose to make a project with Americana Fabric!

Mini Hexagon Purse in Berry Market Fabric
I had the pleasure of making a few cute purses with the new line of fabric - Berry Market from Bev at Flamingo Toes.
The Springy fabric includes everything strawberry – from cute strawberry prints and florals to the most adorable bicycle print. This line was screaming for a fussy cut project so I merged my love of hexagons and cute bags : )
I designed a smaller version of my Hexagon Purse and added a zipper closure and self fabric handles. Introducing the Mini Hexagon Purse. It measures 7 1/2″ in diameter so it is a handy little purse to hold your essentials. Get the pattern at the link below!

Making all the things with Bee Basics from Riley Blake
The Circle Hexagon Purse is super roomy and big enough for sewing projects on the go.
I’ve wanted to make a quilt coat for some time. I used the Flora Jacket pattern from Bright Side which is an easy fitting jacket with patch pockets and a dropped sleeve. The pockets were a wee bit big for my taste, so I reduce the size to 7″ tall x 7 1/4″ wide. I also shortened the front on the longer version by about 1 1/2″. The version I made is a size Medium and is nice and roomy.
The Brown Ditsy print – “Genoveffa Raisin”, was perfect for quilting! The print has a symmetrical pattern so I was able to use the print as my quilting guide – no marking required.
The binding is also a Bee Basics Bee Gingham – Cassidy Gingham in color Coral.
I love the pop of pink on the inside collar!
Here is my Quilt Coat inspiration board : ) I ended up choosing a pattern that looks and fits closest to the Free People jacket on the bottom left. My next quilt coat will be a version of the out of print pattern on the right – Simplicity 8298 with a vintage Cottagecore / Little House on the Prairie vibe.
I started a few more projects I thought I would share. This Dresden block is destined to become another Circle purse.
The Dresden block was made from a template from EZ quilting you can find HERE. I used the 6″ length blade and it fit the Circle purse perfectly.
Bee Dots was a perfect choice for my Vintage Dresses!
I hope you choose to use Bee Basics in your next project!
Happy Sewing!

POSIE Quilt in Precious Petites fabric
Hi! It has been grey and cold here in the Pacific Northwest so working with the bright and sunny floral collection – Precious Petites was a real treat!
The fabric line consists entirely of florals with a gingham print in five different colorways – my absolute dream fabric collection!
The collection is designed by Gerri Robinson for Planted Seed Designs.
I designed a quilt that has a Springy feel and takes advantage of all those amazing floral prints. The butterfly block is a perfect match for the floral themed Posie block : )
The Posie quilt is a perfect pattern for learning and expanding your sewing skills. The Butterfly block is foundation paper pieced and the Posie block uses curved piecing.
