Stitch !

 

Stitch is the new line of fabric by Lori Holt of A Bee in My Bonnet for Riley Blake Designs.

Stitch is an adorable line of fabrics consisting of florals, vintage style prints and Sewing themed fabrics.

This fun little log cabin purse was designed by me for the book "Playful Little Paper Pieced Projects."

I used the adorable cheater print for the center square.  The sweet bias binding  with crochet trim is also designed by Lori Holt for Riley Blake Designs.

The zipper pouch can be found in my Etsy shop.  It is the perfectly designed for 6" finished blocks.  The sewing machine block is from the new book "100 Paper Pieced Blocks" which will be out in August.

The sewing machine block seemed a perfect choice made in "Stitch" fabric : )

The stripe fabric is a lovely basic from Riley Blake.

The opposite side of the pouch is made with the Stitch fabrics print "Vintage Ladies" and I added the cute little sewing machine zipper pull designed by Lori Holt as well.

The fun little tab on the zipper pouch was made from the selvedges !  They are so cute!

Hidden Cottage

I had the opportunity to create with the adorable new line of fabric from Minki Kim designed for Riley Blake Designs.

Hidden cottage is a beautiful line of fabric consisting of florals, ginghams and a cute hexagon cheater print.  The palette is a lovely combination of Gold, pink, blue and green.

I have had the design for a new purse pattern in my head for a while and thought this would be the perfect fabric line for my design.

This is the first sample of my new pattern, "Hexagon Circle Purse"which will be released very soon!

I love how it turned out,  and it is a fairly quick make as the hexagons are sewn by machine.

The natural linen lining is from Riley Blake designs and the leather handles were found on Etsy.  

The Brass rivets that attach the handles to the purse were purchased from Tandy Leather.

I couldn't resist making another Macaroon Pouch with the adorable cheater hexagon print and Blue Floral.

Christmas in June!

 

I am a procrastinator when it comes to Holiday sewing projects and usually start my Holiday sewing very, very close to December!  I made an exception once I saw the cute line of fabric "Christmas Adventure" designed by Bev at Flamingo Toes  for Riley Blake Fabrics.

The fabric line is so adorable!  Who doesn't love Holiday camper vans and bicycles!

I love to have cute bags and pouches for Christmas gifts, so I decided to make a trio from a pattern by Jeni Baker.  The pattern is easy to put together and a quick make.

I added fusible fleece to the body of the bag and light weight interfacing to the top contrast drawstring portion.

Of course I had to add a fun paper pieced block to the largest bag.  The pattern is my "Gifts" pattern which you can find in my Etsy shop

100 Paper Pieced Quilt Blocks - New collaborative book!

 

💙I am very excited to be a contributor to David and Charles "100 Paper Pieced Quilt Blocks" ⁠ I am so thrilled to share them with you! All the blocks are 6" and there are so many fun designs!

The book will be available August 17th but you can pre-order now.

 This is my Cottage Block.  I love house blocks so I just had to include one!

So many fun fussy cutting opportunities!

                       I also designed this cute little Cottage Craft Basket with Ruffles and Bias trim.

Poppy and Posey Fabric and a Free Pattern Link!

I am so happy that Spring is finally here!   It is so beautiful in the Pacific Northwest this time of year, and  it is nice to get outside in the garden.  

When I saw the new fabric collection, Poppy and Posey, from Riley Blake Fabrics designed by Dodi Lee Paulson, I knew I had to make some cute garden accessories.

  

The florals are beautiful and the line also includes the most adorable butterfly fabric. 

The fabric line also includes an apron panel. 

It is so darn cute and will be the perfect gift for my mom this Mother's Day.

Hello Spring A FREE Paper Piecing Pattern

 

Happy Spring!  I am so happy we are turning the corner to warmer weather.  

Spring is my favorite season because I get to spend time gardening outside.   Every day I check to see the status of my tulips I planted in the Fall.  They should be blooming in the next few weeks.

My "Hello Spring" pattern was designed with the season in mind.  

This version includes some of my favorite  Japanese prints from Sunny Day Supply.

This is the first version I stitched almost 10 years ago!

Liberty Fabrics "The Deco Dance" * and * Free Pattern for my Ruffle Purse!

I adore Liberty Fabrics and was a contributor to the Liberty craft blog years ago.  The site is no longer, but I decided to make a past project that I designed for the Liberty craft blog                                                    with the newest collection of Liberty fabrics - "The Deco Dance Collection" from Riley Blake.

The Ruffle Purse is a zipper purse that can be used as a clutch or cross body bag - just add your favorite shoulder strap.  The clutch strap is included with the pattern!

I couldn't make just one Ruffle Purse!  This version uses the pale lavender prints and I paired it with Riley Blake Natural linen, Swiss Dots and Gingham,  and Riley Blake "Bee Cute Lace". 

The clutch strap is scrappy patchwork, which I love!

The second version of the Ruffle Purse features Navy/Pink colors in the fabric line paired with Riley Blake linen in Navy.

Anne of Green Gables

 

Anne of Green Gables is one of my favorite book series.  When I had the opportunity to sew a project with the new Anne of Green Gables line of fabric from Riley Blake, I could not resist!

The fabric is a beautiful selection of florals, text prints and of course a cute print of Anne Shirley too!  The palette is beautiful shades of lavender and green.

I made a Gathered Clutch so I could use the Anne print as the center panel, and added bias cut gingham piping to frame the adorable fabric in the center panel.

The Gathered Clutch Pattern can be found in my Etsy shop.  The gingham and linen fabric are also from Riley Blake.

The prints are so adorable and deserved a design that highlighted them.  I designed this Hexagon Tote Bag which I believe does just that! 

The tote has an inside pocket, zipper closure, and a shoulder strap which makes it the perfect design to hold projects on the go or as a shopping tote.

The tote also has lace trim which works nicely with the print.  The lovely cotton lace is from Riley Blake!  You can find the pattern for the Hexagon Tote Bag in my Etsy shop.

The "Anne" print is perfect for fussy cutting!  Isn't this zipper tab adorable?!

Strawberry Honey "From the Heart" Quilt

 

Today is my stop on the Riley Blake Designs project tour for the new fabric line "Strawberry Honey" by Gracey Larson of Burlap and Blossom Patterns.

I thought the fabric paired perfectly with the quilt pattern "From the Heart" by Nicola Dodd from Issue Ninety of Love Patchwork and Quilting.  

I love the simplicity of the design and it was a breeze to piece!

The fabric is absolutely adorable with bee, flower and bear motifs and a wonderful two color gingham which I used to bind the quilt.

The Polka dot background fabric is Swiss Dot in White with Hot Pink.

The fun quilt back fabric is  "Wide Back Granny Chic Vintage Embroidery Pink" designed by Lori Holt.

This is such a Springy and cheerful fabric collection! 

I'm looking forward to having this quilt on my bed : )
