* Super Cute Paper Piecing * ~ My New Book!

I can finally reveal the secret project I have been working on for months - my new book - "Super Cute Paper Piecing"

I wrote the book while managing a house remodel and a couple of moves.  

Writing the book helped keep me sane and happy during the chaos. 

The book will be available November 2017 and I will be making my first trip to quilt market at the end of October to share it and sign books!

This is the only photo from the book I can share now,  but the following pics are a few I took during the process.  If you look carefully, you can see some blocks that are in the book. 

"Super Cute Paper Piecing" has 13 paper pieced blocks and 10 fun and useful projects!

The Fussy Cut Sampler Quilt Along

I cannot resist a fun new project - especially a sew or quilt along!

When I saw the blocks appearing on Instagram for The Fussy Cut Samper Quilt Along I knew I had to join in!

I ordered the book, it never arrived, and then ordered it again!

So I am a bit behind.......

My blocks start with week 3 and I will catch up making the blocks for week 1 and 2 when I get a chance : )

If you are reading this then you are probably familiar with my work : )  

I love to fussy cut motifs and think it adds such a special element to my projects.

The book is broken down by techniques and is an excellent way to learn

some new techniques for fussy cutting.

Macaroon Pouch in Improv Fabric by Amy!

Amy of During Quiet Time and I have been friends for years.

We first met when we joined the online paper piecing quilting bee - Cocorico.

It has been so much fun watching her career grow.  She designs patterns and has authored two lovely books for Lucky Spool.  She is so incredibly talented!  

Fabric Designer is her latest accomplishment and I had the pleasure of working with her beautiful new fabric line - "Improv" by Benartex Fabrics.

The colors are gorgeous and the prints are fresh and modern.

I just had to make a Macaroon Pouch - in the Cinnamon color way which I think is my favorite.  

Improv is available in July and you can see the entire, gorgeous, fabric line [HERE]

Bella Skill Builder ~ Half Square Triangles

Happy June to you!

I hope you are enjoying your summer!

Today is the reveal for the fifth block in the Bella Skill Builder Sew Along hosted by The Fat Quarter Shop.  The lovely quilt is designed by Sherri McConnell of A Quilting Life.

This month the block consists of half square triangles.

Fat Quarter Shop has some nifty paper to help make these.

I opted for this tutorial to make mine

I decided to do an ombre effect for my half square triangle block and I love it!
