Malibu Barbie Patch Pocket Tote

 

I will never pass up the chance to work with Barbie themed fabrics.  Sewing clothes for Barbie when I was just 5 years old was my introduction to sewing!

The new Malibu Barbie fabric from Riley Blake Designs is so fun. The fabrics have a 70"s vibe in a vivid array of blues, pink and yellow.

Of course I had to make a dress for Barbie : )  The cute shift dress is from the book "Sewing Clothes for Barbie" by Annabel Benilan.  I used "Barbie Icons" in Hot Pink for the dress.

The Patch Pocket tote is the perfect size to fit Barbie and all her accessories!   You can find the pattern in my Etsy shop - Charise Creates.  

I used "Hearts" in pink for the body of the purse.  The pocket fabric is "Malibu Barbie Main" in color Multi.  The stripe print in this collection is perfect to trim the top of the pocket and tote bag.  Riley 1/8" Gingham in color Yellow is the perfect compliment for the handles.
