A new Sewing Studio

Just two weeks ago we moved back into our house after a lengthy remodel.
It has been a long journey ~ three separate moves to various rentals and 13 months of construction.
It is so nice to be home.
We have such incredible memories that were made here.  Getting married in the back yard and bringing home our first son, to name a few.

One of the coolest things about the remodel was carving out an office on the second floor.  It is a small room (about 10 x 11 feet) but it is all mine!
No more sewing on the dining room table.

We requested a vaulted ceiling for the room, which makes it seem incredibly spacious. I plan to outfit the wall with tall bookshelves to house my vast collection of books.

Two bookshelves store my fabric.

There is also plenty of room for Madge who is wearing a peasant blouse I made.
You can find the pattern [HERE]

I love having all the white walls which are perfect for hanging my Works in Progress
as well as taking photos.

I still have lots of organizing to do, but is coming together!

Happy Sewing

  1. congrats. that is a long time. we have a bathroom being remodeled and it has only been 5 weeks, but it seems like forever. LOL
    Have fun organizing.

  2. Beautiful!! You make me ant to reorganize my sewing room, which is a bit smaller then yours. Such a lovely place you have there!

  3. how good to have a sewing room, I keep most of my things in the small bedroom but the sewing machine i in the living room and all the books in the utility if I am honest I think have sewing stuff in every room in the house

  4. So happy for you!! It's looking lovely already! I can't believe you had to move 3 times: awful!! I've been sewing on the dining room table for 30 years now, and am close (this month, I hope!) to getting my own sewing room. whoo hoo!! I feel your joy!! Wishing you more fun as you arrange your room!! Hugs, H in Healdsburg

  5. You will be surprised at how quickly it gets filled up. Have fun with it.

  6. What a wonderful space. I will be moving in to my new sewing space soon, my biggest concern is making it organized and not to much clutter. Have fun with your space.

  7. Congratulations, Charise! Your new studio is beautiful. Have fun setting it up just the way you want it!
